Name Our Octopus Competition - Rules
1. Promoter
The promoter is The Neurodivergence Project.
2. Closing date
The competition closes at 23:59 (UK time) on 31 March.
3. Eligibility
Open to UK residents. If you are under 18, please enter with permission from a parent or guardian.
4. Name guidelines
We want this to be welcoming for everyone. We may exclude entries that are offensive, discriminatory, unlawful, or that appear to infringe someone else’s rights (for example, trademarked names).
5. How the winner is chosen
After the competition closes, we will narrow entries down to our favourite names with input from our volunteer community.
The top five names will then go to the board of trustees, who will choose the final winning name.
The trustees’ decision is final.
6. The prize
The winning entry receives 1 x octopus knitted mascot
7. Winner contact
We will contact the winner using the email address provided at checkout within 14 days of the closing date. If we do not receive a response within 14 days, we reserve the right to select an alternative winner.
8. Changes, extensions, and fairness
We reserve the right to amend these rules, extend the competition closing date, or end the competition early if necessary. This may include situations such as an unexpectedly low number of entries, technical issues with the checkout process, or circumstances outside our control. If any changes are made, we will aim to handle them fairly and transparently.
9. Privacy
We will use the personal information provided during checkout only to administer the competition, contact the winner, and fulfil the prize, unless you have separately opted in to hear from us in another way.
