After months of planning, we are delighted to say that the Neurodivergence Project is launching.
If you have visited our website or seen us at events, we hope you share our excitement about the way the natural world, and in particular the power of the ocean, can transform the lives of neurodivergent people.
Our therapeutic sailing experiences offer calm, connection, confidence and challenge in a uniquely supportive environment.
Today, we are asking for your help to put the essential foundations in place that will allow this work to happen safely, responsibly and with real impact.
To begin delivering our programme, we need to do three things.
1. We need to be insured
Put simply, insurance allows us to work safely with beneficiaries. Without it, we legally cannot deliver activities, events or direct support. The cost of our insurance is £300.
2. We need people to be able to find us
Our website is not a luxury — it is how neurodivergent people and their families discover us, access support and feel confident that we are legitimate and safe.
We will also be present at sailing club events, where we need a small stand, along with business cards and leaflets, to help people learn about our therapeutic sailing trips.
The cost of website hosting and development, along with stands and printed materials, is £3200.
3. We need to be safe and compliant
Safeguarding and DBS checks are essential, particularly when working with vulnerable people. These measures protect participants, families and our volunteers, and ensure we meet the highest standards of care. Safeguarding training and DBS checks cost £50 per volunteer.
Be part of the beginning
Our launch appeal of £4,500 will cover our first year of essential set-up costs. Once these foundations are in place, future donations can focus directly on delivering therapeutic sailing experiences.
Under-resourced charities struggle, burn out or fail compliance checks. We are determined to build something that is ethical, resilient and long-lasting – something that truly protects and supports the people we work with.
We are looking for 45 Launch Supporters to donate £100 each. By doing so, you will be helping to build the charity that makes every future sailing trip, every moment of calm, and every breakthrough possible.
You are not funding “admin”.
You are enabling every life-changing experience that follows.
Thank you for helping us launch The Neurodivergence Project.
